Results Summary 2014 - click here

Warmest congratulations to our students on this year’s GCSE results which represent another leap forward for the school and a new high.

68% of our students gained 5 higher grades including English and Mathematics. This is a 9% hike on last year! In terms of attainment 76% of students achieved a grade A*-C in English and 75% achieved an A*-C grade in Maths.  77% of students made at least expected progress in Maths (with 38% making greater than expected progress) and 71% made at least expected progress in English (with 26% making greater than expected progress).

27% of our students achieved the English Baccalaureate and almost every student in the cohort gained 5 GCSEs including English and Maths (97%).

The individual success stories are wonderful, and come in all sorts of packages. Two students each achieved an impressive 12 A* grades, and overall 26% of the students achieved 3 or more A/A* grades. Some students overcame trauma, illness and bereavement to achieve personal success.

The 2014 league tables will be unreliable and hard to interpret, so all readers will need to look beyond the surface. These figures represent the results achieved by the end of the course at WPS, results which cannot be taken away for those dedicated and hardworking young people.

We want to send a clear message that exam results can never define a person’s many qualities, and can never fully define a school’s ethos and spirit. We are proud of our students, proud of their attitudes and proud of their learning.

Congratulations all our A- Level students. You have achieved record results!

The percentage of passes at grade A*-B has risen to Wheatley Park record of 54%, an increase of 5% on last year. Maths and English Literature results stand out for comment with 58% A*/ A grades in Maths and 56% in English Literature. We are delighted to see that A*/A grades have risen to 27% a 3% increase on last years results. Many of you will have heard our students opening their results live on BBC radio Oxfordshire and notable successes include. Tom Weir who  achieved 4 A*s and is off to Southampton to study medicine.
