Wheatley Park School GCSE Results 2026
Congratulations to the Class of 2026 for comprehensively smashing school records with their GCSE results!
This year’s ‘Attainment 8’ score (a key government measurement of overall GCSE performance) of 56.5 is a significant advance on the previous best of 53.9, with students from disadvantaged backgrounds in particular achieving more highly than ever before.
39% of all GCSEs were awarded at Grade 7 (equivalent to an old ‘A’ grade) or above, with 44% of students achieving a Grade 7 or above in either English Language or English Literature and 33% achieving a Grade 7 or above in maths.
This cohort missed their Year 6 SATs due to the pandemic, but based on nationally standardised English and maths tests that they completed at the beginning of Year 7, we calculate that their record breaking attainment has been matched by record breaking progress.
Amongst countless stories of individual triumph, special mention must go to Amelie Livesey who achieved straight Grade 9s.
Otis and Eva Nightall were one of several sets of successful twin siblings, achieving four Grade 9s apiece.
We are incredibly proud of each and every member of the Class of 2026.
By thoroughly embracing our school value of Everyone Caring, they created such a supportive year group culture that their success in demonstrating our other school value of Everyone Learning is no surprise.
Whether they are staying on at our Sixth Form or continuing to college or apprenticeships, we wish our Wheatley Parkers every success - may your blood continue to run purple!

Wheatley Park Post-16 Results 2026
Massive congratulations to our Year 12 and 13 students on their brilliant A-level, AS-level and BTEC examination results.
At A-level, our biggest ever cohort of 117 students has achieved the strongest results since 2022 (when grades were awarded more generously after the pandemic). 28% of grades gained were awarded at A* or A, 59% at A* to B, 85% at A* to C and 100% at A* to E.
A special mention must go to Imogen Flight who has maintained a perfect academic record, following up her twelve A*s at GCSE with four A*s at A-level in computer science, history, maths and further maths.
Meanwhile, Amir Shodunke demonstrated an incredible work ethic to gain A grades in five subjects (chemistry, computer science, maths, further maths and physics) and complete an Extended Project Qualification into the bargain, for which he engineered a litter-picking robot!
Most importantly, the vast majority of students gained the grades needed to access their next steps on university degrees, degree apprenticeships, apprenticeships or in employment.
Thank you to all our Year 13s for being fully ‘purple-blooded’ Wheatley Parkers who have role-modelled our school values of Everyone Learning and Everyone Caring at every opportunity - all the very best for the future.
Finally, an enormous thank you and a fond farewell to our much-loved and highly-respected Head of Sixth Form, Graham West, who retires this summer after leading our Sixth Form so successfully for the last nine years of his twenty-five years at WPS and thirty years in teaching.
