GCSE Results bring joy to the Class of 2016

Late August can be a nervous time for GCSE students, and faces at WPS today were full of smiles, relief and tears of joy after the hard work and commitment over the past year brought us some great results. 70% of our students achieved A*-C in English and Maths, a result which reflects great progress.
Special congratulations to everyone who made a contribution, especially to the amazing teachers and support staff who constantly gave more to help our students achieve their very best.

August 18th, A level results day 2016, saw whoops, hugs and smiles dominating the Sixth Form Common Room. With a 97% pass rate, almost half of the grades (46%) achieved were A*,A or B. The long list of success stories include Toby and Eleanor who are going to study Medicine in Leeds and UEA respectively; Ashley who got 3 A* grades and is going to study History at Bristol; Charlotte whose array of A grades is taking her to Warwick to study Chemistry. There are many more, as our students plan to explore new learning all over the country in York, Exeter, London, Sheffield, and everywhere in between. The stories of good results include some that are easy to grasp and others that may not look special at first glance, but which include amazing strength of character, resilience and determination against the odds. Well done to all.
